The Mumps at the Hot Club, ca. late 1977-early 1978. Kristian Hoffman, Lance Loud (1951-2001), Rob Duprey. The Mumps were a fun and witty pop band that rode the new wave, and got a boost from front man Lance Loud’s lingering fame from his appearance on the PBS reality series An American Family, where he came out as gay to his parents in front of the cameras. The Mumps became Hot Club favorites, often slipping away to nearby bar Doobie’s between sets.
